The Dent-Jackson claim block is located in the west central portion of the Archean Uchi Greenstone Belt, approximately 25km south of Shabu, 25km northwest of Maskooch, and 75km east of the giant Red Lake gold camp (+20 Moz Au) (Dube et al, 2004).

1,233-ha claim block in the west central portion of the Uchi Belt, approximately 25km south of the Shabu claims and 25km north of the Maskooch claims.


  • The Dent-Jackson property is underlain by chemically reactive mafic to intermediate metavolcanic rocks. The host rock sequence is similar to nearby past-producing gold and base metal mines, including the South Bay Cu-Zn-Ag Mine located approximately 6km east of the Dent-Jackson property.
  • The past-producing Jackson-Manion Gold Mine (MDI 52N02SW 00003) is located in the eastern part of the Dent-Jackson property and is characterized by quartz veins cutting mafic volcanic rocks. 1983 sampling of the workings returned grades up to 34 oz/t Au (OGS: OFR 5835). Historic work has yielded additional vein showings and the presence of massive sulfides and quartz feldspar porphyry dikes that are strongly associated with the best gold grades.
  • The Ontario Mineral Database records three additional gold, copper, zinc occurrences on the Dent-Jackson property, the most significant being Medicine Rock (MDI 52N02SW 00020). Exploration at Medicine Rock occurred intermittently from 1927-2012. Channel sampling in 1m intervals along vein showings returned gold values ranging from 0.02 to 232.9 g/t Au, and historic drilling is noted to have returned values up to 5.46% Zn, 0.91 oz/t Ag, 1.18% Pb and minor Cu and Au over thicknesses of from 5 to 14 feet (MDI 52N02SW 00020). Drilling in 2012 returned anomalous gold in 2 holes (the best intercept being 1.24g/t over 1m), and prospecting in 2013 revealed locally intense iron-carbonate alteration as well as rock samples grading up to 68g/t Au (Guilin, 2013) 1200m SE of the known showings. Further work is needed to determine the style and extent of mineralization and establish the geologic framework of the area.
